The following features a brief outline of the duties of the following deck crew jobs on an offshore oil rig.

Control Room Operator (CRO): Has a salary of either £30,000 or US$45,000. This position is a step down from Barge Engineer and is the Barge engineer's assistant. This job involves anchor and retrieving operations aboard the rig. Job responsibilities include keeping the rig afloat on a regular basis, processing paperwork and work permits.
